Mar Menor is a water lagoon, separated from the Mediterranean by a narrow piece of land called La Manga Strip.
The Strip starts at the south end of the Mar Menor just following Cabo De Palos and continues 21 kilometres in the north direction of San Pedro del Pinatar.
The waters are consistently calm, usually about 18 degrees Celsius and contain a lot of salts and iodine.
Around the shores of the Menor Sea, there are several small villages and towns.
Los Alcazares is a charming beach town with a long walk.
Punta Brava is a small town that has a fantastic view of the Mar Menor, the Strip and the Sierra Minera.
Cabo de Palos offers a picturesque marina, a rugged coastline and a stunning lighthouse.
